LAUNCH LOGISTICS AND DEPLOYMENT SYSTEMS

Hypergiant SEOPS was founded in 2017 to provide Satellite Deployment Solutions and Services leveraging existing investments and capabilities to create new, cost-effective solutions.

At Hypergiant SEOPS, we have already built a foundation to provide access to space utilizing the International Space Station infrastructure with two proven launch systems servicing the CubeSat and MicroSat markets. Also, we have built several launch vehicle agnostic products such as dispensers and separation systems. We plan to evolve these product offerings to other launch systems in low earth orbit and beyond.

PAYLOAD INTEGRATION

We have an experienced and reputable team that can provide payload integration services. Hypergiant SEOPS is a full-service provider for our launch systems and deployer solution products. Our team can provide coordination, manifesting, safety, and verification for your mission. Additionally, we can also support testing and analysis, payload development, and radio licensing.

MANUFACTURING

Hypergiant SEOPS has an engineering design team that works with our exclusive manufacturing partner, Quad-M. Quad-M is located in Texas and they offer full services from job machining to complete design and build. They have high quality, close tolerance accuracy, state-of-the-art equipment and automated machinery. Quad-M is expert in Aircraft Countermeasures, ICBM Penetration, CubeSat Deployers, and Separation Systems.

HYPERGIANT SEOPS - SLINGSHOT

Slingshot is a 500KM / 51.6d deployment solution that leverages the most reliable space infrastructure in the world — the International Space Station and associated visiting vehicles (Cygnus/Dragon). Slingshot offers a customer the ability to fly in a soft bag and deploy up to conventional 12U CubeSats and hosted payloads that can vary in size. Therefore, a payload can grow by length and width but not height. A maximum deployer configuration for our system is a nominal 9 x 6U deployers (52U). Additionally, we can fit more per U in a hosted payload configuration.

HYPERGIANT SEOPS - MACE

Mace is a microsat launch system using a similar concept of operations as slingshot. The orbit is the same with a target of 500KM / 51.6d and the target satellite can range from a 12U (if it does not fit in Slingshot) to “ESPA Lite” for the Cygnus configuration, but we also have a solution that deploys at the ISS altitude out of the Dragon drunk. The biggest driver on the deploy options is driven by the dimensions of the satellite. If the satellite can fit through the JEM Air Lock then it can ride up in a soft bag on Cygnus and Dragon. If not, then the satellite will fly in the Dragon Trunk.

Equalizer is a U.S. built deployer that has a preliminary mass around 7Kg and supports 3U, 6U, and 12U configurations. Also, we have the capability to custom build deployers if needed by a customer. The equalizer has the following characteristics:

CYGNUS’ SECONDARY MISSION 2/8/2018 RELEASE FROM ISS

With Cygnus’ primary role complete on the space station, NASA astronauts installed the SLINGSHOT Deployer System loaded with hosted CubeSat payloads and prepare the Cygnus for this secondary ‘rideshare’ mission before undocking with the station.

SLINGSHOT LAUNCH SYSTEM MOUNTING

SLINGSHOT utilizes the previously unused small space located within the ring height between the docking side of the Cygnus and the space station.

CYGNUS’ EXPANDED CAPABILITIES

Once the Cygnus spacecraft departs from ISS, it will navigate to 500 KM above the Earth, approximately 50-100 KM higher than the station’s orbit by using Cygnus’ power, attitude control and communication capabilities. On this first test mission, SLINGSHOT will deploy two satellites, expected to stay in orbit at least two years.

Not everything has to deploy, we can keep the Cygnus in service for several weeks to an entire year for collection of additional data with onboard equipment and hosted payloads.

A third mission is in the works to return the Cygnus to ISS for a trash pick-up service, which would incinerate everything on re-entry to Earth. ‘Waste Management for Space’
